Things To Consider Before You Buy
How long has your tinter been tinting windows? I have personally tinted over 25,000 vehicles, and I still do all of my own work.
Only do business with a licensed contractor. Your contractor is required to show you his or her active license and bonding cards. Any contracts you sign, make sure you read and understand them prior to signing. You can check on the status of a contractors license with the following link www.cslb.ca.gov . My California license # is 938528.
Have your contractor explain to you about the benefits of window film. Once you’ve narrowed down your choices you should ask for spec sheets and or a few samples to be installed.
Make sure you read and fully understand the warranties. The warranties are all different and can vary slightly, and in some cases, dramatically, from one another. For instance, “no color change” is different from a film that claims to be “color stable”.
Beware of sales gimics. The proof should be in the specs that the film company provided. When looking at the specs, it is important to note whether or not the film manufacturer is a member of IWFA (International Window Film Association) and an Energy Star Partner, and also ISO certified. Their numbers are scrutinized far more than some films coming from over seas.
